Vittoria Emerich and Ella Sammel, came in 2nd place in the annual Law Day contest. Their diorama focused on the lack of diversity in Congress. They will receive their award at the Law Day Celebration on May 10th at the Washington County Courthouse. Congratulations girls!
Mrs. Gojmerac and Mr. Walsh's middle school gifted students competed in the annual Literature Festival competition again this year. Students were tasked with academic challenges such as creative writing and interpreting characters. We had Trinity teams come in 2nd place (Alex, Andy, Ben, Maddox, and Owen) and 3rd place (Gracie, Bayleigh, Nathan, and Ryan). Congratulations! Gifted students in grades K-3 from Cecil, Chartiers-Houston, Fort Cherry, McGuffey and North Strabane students participated in a Math24 competition this year. The students worked really hard to solve these challenging math cards. Great job! Our 7th grade gifted students organized an Easter Egg Hunt for the Life Skills students at TMS. The students had a lot of fun filling the eggs and hunting for the eggs. Special thank you to Range Resources for providing funding to make this event possible. Range Resources sponsored a STEM competition that featured a bridge building challenge. Students created structures that spanned at least 14" out of no more than 200 popsicle sticks and glue. Each bridge was required to hold at least 10 pounds of weight for at least 1 minute. Structures were judged on creativity, design, and performance. Thank you to Range for welcoming us into your headquarters in Southpointe, PA and for providing our students with a real world challenge! |
