We hosted the Primary Math24 competition at Trinity East on December 12th. First, second, and third-grade gifted students from nearby schools traveled to Trinity East to compete in the fast-paced math game. Congratulations to Rowan for coming in 1st place among the first graders at the competition! Our 6th and 7th grade students traveled to the Carnegie Science Center for the first-ever Judo-Bot Rumble! Students worked in teams to construct a Judo Bot that would compete by battling other Judo Bots. The bots are assembled from four components built separately from one another: the base, the stand, the arm, and the hydraulic system. The hydraulic system uses plastic syringes as pistons and water as the hydraulic fluid. What a great day of learning and fun! Our 4th and 5th grade students traveled to the Heinz History Center to compete in the annual History Bowl competition. Teams of 4 students were challenged to find answers to questions, think and write creatively, and practice problem-solving abilities as they explored the exhibits. Congratulations to Drake, Brice, Nicholas, and Kasen for earning 82 points and coming in 3rd place at the competition! Way to go boys! |
